NAMASTE NEPAL

NAMASTE, the greeting widely used in Nepal to welcome, greet, thank or say goodbye to someone, with folded hands and slightly lowering the head, can be translated as: “God in me greets God in you.”

Nepal has much to offer to tourists and visitors alike, lush nature, breathtaking views, rich and variety of food, art, decoration itens, sacred thankas, winter clothes and accessories, everything for trekking, dance & music, many festivals and the mighty Himalaya!

The Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, consisting of 7 provinces, with Kathmandu as its capital, is a multi-ethnic, multilingual, multi-cultural, and multi-religious country, with 12 ethnic groups that coexist harmoniously, its main language is Nepali, with an approximate population of 29.5 million inhabitants.

Bordering the Tibet Autonomous Region in China to the North, and India to the South, East and West, it is also close to Bhutan and Bangladesh. Its main religion is Hinduism, followed by Tibetan Buddhism. Nepali people are very proud to say to visitors that Gautama Buddha was born in Lumbini, Nepal.

Along with Everest, the highest mountain in the world, Nepal is home to eight of the fourteen mountains that are over 8,000 m high: Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, Dhaulagiri I, Manaslu and Annapurna I.

With four major river basins, Nepal has one of the most dynamic river systems in the world, and also has one of the greatest diversity of flora on the planet, with over 7,000 species of flowers, 5% of which do not grow in other regions of the world.

Its flag is the only one in a triangular shape, the national flower of Nepal is the rhododendron, cow is the animal symbol, Himalayan monal is the bird, and the Yeti their mythical animal.
